5K Run

The 5K Run/Walk for Homeless Animals on 9/17/11 was a huge success!  Special thanks to all of the sponsors and participants who made it possible:  Owens Auto Shop, the Allergy, Asthma, and Sinus Center, Forcht Bank, Community Trust Bank, Tom Blair and State Farm, Bingham Tire and Oil in Barbourville, Teco Coal, Tri County Cineplex, Whitaker Bank, Brentwood Pharmacy, Whitley Pharmacy, Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, David’s Steakhouse, Gina Paul and the Whitley Co. High School Cross Country Team, Barbara Storms and the Whitley Co. Baseball Boosters, Bev Anderson and the Whitley Co. Girls Basketball Boosters, and a special thanks to PT Pros for the donation, goody bag information, and basket of animal care products for the shelter.  Special thanks to Dr. Michael Culver and the Williamsburg Veterinarian Clinic, Dr. Castle and the Tri County Veterinarian Clinic, and Dr. Tammy and Mark Smith and Knox County Veterinarian Services. Special thanks to Corbin High School for letting us start the event at the track, and to Chris Jones and the Falls Road Runners for all of their help.  Thank you to everyone for your support. The shelter appreciates any help for animals in need, and this event helps raise funds to provide a temporary home for them while they wait for a permanent home.  We are excited to have another event next year, same time and place. Hope to see you all there!
